Nintendo has updated the description for Mario on the Japanese ‘Mario Portal’ and it has uncovered a shocking piece of news.

Mario is no longer a plumber.

His updated profile now reads as below;

All around sporty, whether it’s tennis or baseball, soccer or car racing, he [Mario] does everything cool. As a matter of fact, he also seems to have worked as a plumber a long time ago…

Aside from going down pipes, which most plumbers don’t actually do themselves when was the last time we saw Mario actually plumb anything? Sad news day.
