Exclusive: Rare returns to Nintendo with Rare Replay 64 collection – with Goldeneye 007!
It would appear that Nintendo thanking their friends Microsoft during the newest Nindies Showcase means a lot more than first thought. The once unthinkable has happened, Microsoft and Rare are bringing their original Nintendo 64 titles to the Nintendo Switch both in a collection and through the eShop.
The biggest news here is that Goldeneye 007 is included, Nintendo and Microsoft worked with the producers of James Bond to get it included.
There are also 10 other games in the collection, all of them are Rare ‘originals’, that means no Mickey Speedway USA and no Donkey Kong 64 or Diddy Kong Racing.
The collection includes
- Blast Corps (Original)
- Jet Force Gemini (Original)
- Conker’s Bad Fur Day (Original)
- Conker: Live & Reloaded (Xbox)
- Banjo-Kazooie (Xbox Live Arcade Version + Original)
- Banjo-Tooie (Xbox Live Arcade Version + Original)
- Killer Instinct Gold (Original)
- Perfect Dark (Xbox Live Arcade Version)
The original releases will be as they were upon the original releases aside from upscaling to HD and having their frame-rates stabilized. The Xbox and Xbox Live versions contain online multiplayer, Xbox Live achievements and all the enhancements that they received upon release.
The first game to be released digitally will be Blast Corps, and it’s out today – April 1st.
