Confirmed: Wii U won’t optimise Wii games for HD

At least you can still keep playing your Wii games.

The Wii U will be Nintendo’s first high-definition console, capable of spitting out 1080 lines of fun, and will also play Wii games and support Wii accessories. The question on everyone’s mind has been whether the Wii U would upscale the (3D) graphics in Wii games to look crisp and high definition.

Nintendo’s response is negative, confirming that Wii games will not be getting special treatment on the upcoming console. The fact that the Wii U will support Wii games at all is enough for most, and I know many of our forumers have built up a respectable library of Wii games. Although I was so looking forward to playing [...]

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 3D dated for Australia

Classic Controller Pro Compatible and out this March.

Local distributor of Konami goods Mindscape has announced that Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 3D will be out in Australia on March 8th. The final date is a welcome gift after the game was delayed last year.

While it is a remake of the PlayStation 2 title, the game has a bunch of new additions to it to take advantage of the Nintendo 3DS. The game is Circle Pad Pro compatible so the controls might not be as bad as first thought. Then there is also the photo camouflage system that allows you to snap a photo to put onto Snakes’ outfit. Photos of your cat however won’t be effective in the harsh jungle so you might have [...]

Vooks GOTY Awards for 2011 – The results are in

Did your favourite win? Well if you voted it might have!.

The results are in, they’re all counted and your and our votes have been collected and the Vooks GOTY has been chosen, though you probably knew who won already – it wasn’t hard to guess. We’ve had an outstanding response this year with more than 170 votes in each category, seriously we used to get less than 10 in some, it’s made for an interesting battle seeing all the votes come in. In the spirit of that not only have we crowned the winner but also I’ve given out the stats for two runners up, it was a close race in some categories. Well if you’re still reading this and haven’t scrolled down, it’s time to scroll [...]

Kid Icarus Uprising will now support the Circle Pad Pro

Left handed people rejoice, we can actually play the game now.

The mastermind behind the Smash Bros series and now Kid Icarus Uprising, Masahiro Sakurai has told Official Nintendo Magazine in the latest issue that the game will support the Circle Pad Pro. This now means that left handed people can play the game, people like me who have been complaining to Mr Sakurai on Twitter weekly about it.

The Circle Pad Pro won’t change the game’s controls, it will simply allow left handed people to play the game with the stylus in their left hand and use the right Circle Pad. “The way we are using the Circle Pad Pro in the [...]
