Update: Nintendo Australia has confirmed that the New 3DS XL Super Nintendo Entertainment System Special Edition is coming to Australia and New Zealand and it’ll arrive on October 14th. It’ll have an SRP of AU$249.95 as well.
Original Story: Nintendo has announced that the New 3DS XL Super Nintendo Entertainment System Special Edition system is coming to Europe on October 13th.
We’ve asked Nintendo Australia if we’re getting the unit here, but the good news is even if it’s not coming, you could import it and have no issues with the region lock.

So finally…those coloured buttons are coming to a 3DS XL, yay! In all seriousness though, if this comes to Australia, I’m gonna snap it up!

I thought I read that the 3DS had been discontinued… Why are they releasing more of them?
The small original size has, not the “XL” (or LL as it’s know in other places).
They’ve had this LL Super Famicom inspired 3DS in Japan for a while. I do wonder if they’ve got a big stockpile of core 3DS XLs given they are trying to move so many of them with the Samus Returns version and this one.

Damn! Bought the JP ver. of this a year ago at $300, thought Nintendo would not release this overseas because US would need a new design. Now they totally skipped US and release only EU AU NZ, great move Nintendo, great move. But why the delay Nintendo!!!
I think the best thing about this system is it’s matte. Is this the only XL with a matte finish?
