Nintendo Direct: Kirby’s 20th Anniversary plans announced.

The news just keeps coming from Nintendo’s latest broadcast of Nintendo Direct.

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo’s president in Japan, announced that Nintendo will be running a campaign to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Kirby, much like they did with both Zelda and Mario (where’s Metroid guys? welp). Details of what the campaign will include specifically are quite scarce, however Nintendo of America did post on their Twitter feed that there will be a Wii release of games that will include many of their favourite Kirby games.

On the Japanese front, it was announced that many Kirby related goods would be made available to Club Nintendo members, so we should all start praying that we are blessed with the same benefits here in Australia too.

We’re keen and intrigued to see what Nintendo has lined up to celebrate Kirby’s birthday. So far all we have is a logo, which you can see below.

But I’m still just a little bit bitter about everyone ignoring Samus’ 25th birthday. =(

What would you like to see done for Kirby’s 20th anniversary? A game collection on disc or perhaps something else? Let us know in the comments.
