Developer Atlus safe after parent company merger

Niche developer of titles such as Trauma Center stays in the hunt

Last week, the parent company of developer Atlus (most known in Nintendo circles for games such as Trauma Center: Under the Knife and Etrian Odyssey) Innex Holdings announced that it would be dissolving the independent games developer in an effort to streamline its mobile phone development business. However, it’s now been confirmed that the developer will continue to operate as a brand and any titles in production will continue.

Atlus USA president and CEO Shinichi Suzuki issued a statement that quelled any fears that the developer would no longer be working on future titles. He said the developer will “continue, as always, to support our beloved community with the finest quality game experiences possible”. He further commented that the merger would provide a more stable foundation for Atlus, both in Japan and the United States.

It’s great to see the niche developer staying in the industry, and hopefully Atlus manages to bring the same level of quality of the past with future titles.
