Sega claims its Bigger, Bolder, Better

Sega have announced a US release date for Conduit 2 of February, 2011. The sequel to the widely praised, if flawed, Wii exclusive The Conduit, had its release date pushed back in order for developer High Voltage Software to polish the game. Considering the flaws of the original game, such as uninspired art direction and poor level design, many were not opposed to this delay of the release in the hope that when the game does launch next year it will be a much more solid and definitive experience than that of its predecessor.

In addition a new trailer was released claiming the title will be "bigger, bolder and better". To support this, the trailer reveals some very polished graphics as well as some open environments such as a jungle and a frosty mountain region which are welcome additions after the original titles focus on enclosed spaces. A new weapon or two is also revealed, as well as a serpent-cross-alien creature which is most likely some sort of boss. The trailer also shows off some of the split screen multiplayer, which many gamers are happy to see the return of after the recent explosion of online multiplayer for shooter games on consoles.

Overall the game is looking very impressive so hopefully High Voltage have managed to iron out the flaws in the design from the original and Wii owners can look forward to this game ranking with the Goldeneye re-imagining as some of the best First Person Shooter experiences on the console. The game is also set to support a multitude of peripherals including WiiSpeak, Wii MotionPlus, the Classic Controller and PDP’s Headbanger headset.

Currently no Australian release date has been confirmed.
