Wii U Party mini-games detailed, horizontal stand shown

Nintendo shared some more information about Wii Party U during last night’s Nintendo Direct and shows us that the focus on multiplayer fun is still there.

Some details were shed on how House Party mode games will revolve around more than just sitting in front of the TV. The first minigame shown was called Water Runners and involved players using their Wii remotes to scoop up virtual water from a stream displayed on the Gamepad and then heading back to the TV to pour it into a container while trying to spill as little as possible.

The next minigame, Folk Dance Fever, sees players gathering around the Gamepad in a circle and dancing in time to the on screen display by walking around and raising their arms in time with prompts. The last minigame in the trailer is almost like Twister for your hands. Button Battle has players taking turns to press and hold the buttons displayed on the Gamepad, without letting go or pressing the wrong one.

In total there will be eight House Party games along with the usual board game modes we come to expect. The multiplayer fun of Wii Party U lands in Australia on October 26th and will be available as a stand alone title or bundled with a Wii Remote Plus and horizontal Gamepad stand.

Video games are not my forte. I'm not very good at video games. If you walked up to me in the streets and exclaimed “Hey! You suck at video games!” I would not call you a liar. They are, however, one of my favourite things and classic Nintendo titles are what I like best. Sure I haven't finished New Super Mario Bros. U yet and I've had the game since launch, but that doesn't mean I don't get the same fuzzy feelings as you when I play it.
