What is it: Nintendo trademarks S.T.E.A.M. Strike Team

We're as perplexed as you.
This article is more than 12 years old.

Nintendo files trademarks all the time, sometimes they’re new things and sometimes they’re nothing. Either way they’re never as long or as interesting as this.

Just last week Nintendo of America trademarked a game called “Code name: S.T.E.A.M. Strike Team Eliminating The Alien Menace”.

Like with all trademarks there’s nothing more to point to what exactly the game could be apart but we’d wager it’s about taking out bad aliens. Just a hunch.

The last time Nintendo used periods in between the title of something we had Project H.A.M.M.E.R, that game never saw the light of day outside of E3 2006 – could this be related?

Rather than milking the same ones over and over, Nintendo needs to create some new IPs to reinvigorate the Wii U. Could this be one of them?
