Mega Man Collection 1 + 2 coming to Switch in May

Capcom has announced that both Mega Man Collection 1 + 2 will be coming to the Switch on May 22nd.

The game is coming to retail in America with the first collection on the card and a download code for the second collection. The first one has the first six Mega Man games, the second contains Mega Man 7 through 10.

Each of the games includes a challenge mode with different missions in each game to complete, a rewind feature like the SNES mini, a sound test option to play back all the music from the games and a museum filled with artwork. The trailer also says there’s amiibo support which will unlock further challenges with the Mega Man figure.

There must be a ton of artwork to justify it not all fitting on one cartridge, the games will also be available separately from the eShop. We’ll follow up with Capcom in the morning to see what we’re getting here in Australia, cross those fingers.

Here’s hoping we get the physical version in Australia!

There is no justification for this. None. I can’t see how this could possibly need a cartridge bigger than 2GB let alone 8GB.

Capcom can rot in hell. It’s this sort of BS that makes me want to avoid them altogether.

Agreed. I’m excited for this, but this should seriously have been all on the one cartridge. Might change my purchase decision.

True. Another person commented on this on another nintendo site and I agree with him. He said that Capcom probably want to jip second-hand sales by giving you ‘half’ the game. Same with RE:revelations 1 and 2. Then again Nintendo are guilty too with Bayo 1 and 2…

They definitely are too. But it’s one thing to not be able to fit two games like Bayonetta onto a single cartridge and take the cheap way out, and it’s another thing to not be able to fit a bunch of ROM dumps and some extra stuff on to a cartridge. I’ve read somewhere that the total filesize is something like 5GB, which is a lot less than the standard 8GB cartridge. Its just not good enough and if they’re trying to stop used sales, well then they’ve done it from my point of view, I just won’t buy the game at all.
