Take Kontrol with these new Switch accessories

Switch players have been enjoying the console and the controllers now for a good amount of time and apart from one or two 3rd party Pro Controllers, there has not been anything in the way of accessories for them. Sure we have seen things like charging cables and screen protectors, but that is the extent of accessories, until October 24th at least, as that is the date when KontrolFreek will release their controller accessories for Switch.

“Nintendo Switch has taken the gaming industry by storm and will continue to be the hottest gaming device this holiday season, but it’s not perfect,” said Kelly Eisenberg, Senior Brand Manager at KontrolFreek. “One of the most common critiques we hear from gamers is that the size of the Joy-Con and its analog stick can create an uncomfortable experience after playing games for multiple hours. Turbo and other products in our Switch line were designed to address that critique and are the perfect pieces of gear for all Nintendo fans this fall.”

Kicking things off is the KontrolFreek Turbo, which are thumbstick grips you can add to your Joy-Con, with both Blue and Red colours or the default and boring Grey. This addition adds 83 percent more surface area and 4.4mm of height to standard Switch Joy-Con thumbsticks for more comfortable and precise gameplay experiences.

Players will be able to choose from a range of modification options for the Pro Controller, starting with the FPS Freek Thumbstick sets. What these guys do is add more height to each of the sticks on the Pro Controller, with each set offering up a different height and texture options.

In addition to the thumbstick options, players will also be able to add some extra grip to their controller, with the Performance Grips. These are rubber grips, that can be slid onto the handles of the Pro Controller, giving players more grip over the standard plastic shell.

The company has been making these types of accessories for a number of years on other platforms, but it is the first time that Nintendo fans can get access to them.
