Team Meat have finally announced the release date for Super Meat Boy on the Wii U. In March they said it would be ‘coming soon’ but we can reveal the date is now officially May 12th.

We’ve been covering Super Meat Boy heading to or possibly heading to Nintendo systems since 2010 – so we’re finally glad that it’s here. Nintendo 3DS fans you shouldn’t feel left out either as it could be heading your way as well.

The game will be available for $14US / £13 / €14 until 26th May as a launch discount, after that’ll it’ll go up 20%. We’ll get you the Australian pricing in next week’s update.

Will you be splashing out for Super Meat Boy on the Wii U or have you already played it to death elsewhere? Let us know in the comments.

I would ask/suggest if this is the version that was released on PS4 recently, then it is missing the original soundtrack.

    That’s a big deal.
