New Super Luigi U out now on the Aussie eShop for $29.95

The eShop has just updated and New Super Luigi U add-on content for New Super Mario U has now gone live.

It’s cost on the eShop is $29.95, a much fairer price than the $59.95 Nintendo are asking for it at retail here. Although you do get a nice green box.

You will need either an update to version of New Super Mario Bros U installed on your Wii U to download it or have the disk in the drive. If you buy the game at retail you do not need New Super Mario Bros U.

New Super Mario Bros U updated yesterday with a new patch with support for this add-on and the Wii U Pro Controller.

New Super Luigi U is very similar to New Super Mario Bros U but has had all of the courses in the game replaced with 100 hundred second and harder courses. Luigi like in Super Mario Bros. 2 also has lower traction and his higher more ‘floaty’ bounce. luigiudigital

Anyone picking up New Super Luigi U today or waiting for the retail box?

I think I will wait for the retail version, though I really don’t want to pay full price for it.

Even if we are getting charged $30 for the digital version, shouldn’t it be costing roughly $45 for the physical, since the US are only paying 50% more for physical.

Also the same with Aussie pricing.

As much as I’d like that retail box I think the $30 difference is enough to make me get it from the eshop

Just went home in my lunchbreak and grabbed it, it’s a ready when I get home, stoked. Looking forward to more tight platforming mayhem, especially with the pro controller.

After seeing the price of the retail version, I was worried Nintendo may charge $39.95 here but at $29.95 I’m happy. Just started downloading it a few minutes ago. Looking forward to it!

I would be downloading it today but my new super Mario bros u hasn’t updated yet and isn’t updating, any suggestions?

The Luigi box is just the Luigi DLC right? (say if you don’t have Mario U, you can’t play Mario U with the Luigi box?)

That’s right. You will have to buy NSMBU on disc seperate if you want it and switch discs according to which you would prefer to play.

I’m guessing it costs more because it has all the shared materials on the game with it. Where Luigi U just downloads the extra files you need. Or at least that will probably be how they explain it 😛

ozgameshop have the retail version for $45 delivered for those who are interested. Of course you do have to wait 6 weeks for it to be released.

haha put the NSMBU disc in and it will update automatically, then when you launch the game it will prompt you to the luigi download, it will direct you to the eshop then follow the prompts 🙂

Does the NSMBU disc need to be inserted to play the downloaded version?
