Buy Mario Kart 8 get a choice of one of ten free Wii U Games

by Daniel VuckovicApril 30, 2014

Revealed during tonight’s surprise Nintendo Direct covering all things Mario Kart 8 was an amazing new promotion for the Wii U.

It’s quite simple really, buy a copy of Mario Kart 8 before the end of July and you’ll be entitled to a free download of one of ten games. Not Virtual Console games, but actual Wii U titles.

Games include Nintendo Land, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Game & Wario, Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Sonic Lost World, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, Wii Party U and New Super Mario Bros U.

All you have to be is a member of Club Nintendo, register the code included in the game (or get from the eShop) and you’ll be given the choice of one of those games for free.

This promotion has been confirmed for Europe and America but we see no reason why it shouldn’t come to Australia, we will be following it up with them shortly.

Update: Nintendo Australia has confirmed

I have most of them too. I was going to buy W101 soon anyway but will definitely hold off now and get it through this!

Anyone know if you can redeem more than one copy of MK8 per club nintendo account or one console?

This is great news and will surely encourage many fence sitters about buying a Wii U and will also ensure better sales of Mario Kart 8. Everyone wins!

Like everyone else I already have most of these, all but two, which are Sonic Lost World and the Winter Games title. I’m not usually a big Sonic fan but would consider Lost World just for the Yoshi and Zelda dlc, but if Winter Games has good multiplayer I’d probably get more use out of that.

That’s awesome! Now to decide which game I want.

If this sort of promotion still does not entice fence sitters or/and naysayers, Ninty is doomed!!
Ps… I have all consoles and handholds from game cube and game boy onwards, I have been a Ninty fan since N64..

I’ve been a Nintendo fan even longer but I usually sitting back until there’s an exclusive I absolutely need, which coincides with a limited edition console and after price cuts.

I’m still fence-sitting on the Wii-U because there’s still no new Zelda. I’ll definitely pick up this game, and hopefully they let me redeem the code for when I inevitably pick up a console.

The free code apparently lasts until the end of September.

Also waiting for the upcoming Wii U Zelda game.
Its going to be epic (I hope).
But still bought Wii U for the few other games that are good.

Any reason why this offer wouldn’t stack with the Super Mario Kart offer? I normally import new games from the UK, but this seems like a very sweet deal.

Nintendo should offer the same two-for-one deal when Smash Brothers comes out.
