New Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy detailed, coming this year

Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy is the final installment in the Professor Layton series and is coming our way later this year. Just like it’s predecessors, a huge amount of new puzzles, almost 500 of them, will challenge your brain and make you spend your hint coins in frustration.

Rather than being set in one town – Layton, Emmy and Luke will travel across the globe, bumping into new characters and visiting ancient civilisations, all based on the advice from a fellow archaeologist.

Gameplay will be similar to the previous 3DS entry, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, where players use the touchscreen to explore new locations for clues and the various puzzles that the game has to offer however it will seek to clear up the revelations and somewhat shocking cliffhangers that Miracle Mask left off on in it’s ending.

Having been released in Japan this past February, we know that the story will follow our puzzle solving experts to a snow-laden city to investigate reports of a living mummy. Layton and crew save a young girl named Aria who was frozen in ice and is said to be from the ancient race of the Azrans.

Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy will launch in Australia later this year – no solid release date has been confirmed.

Video games are not my forte. I'm not very good at video games. If you walked up to me in the streets and exclaimed “Hey! You suck at video games!” I would not call you a liar. They are, however, one of my favourite things and classic Nintendo titles are what I like best. Sure I haven't finished New Super Mario Bros. U yet and I've had the game since launch, but that doesn't mean I don't get the same fuzzy feelings as you when I play it.
