Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Mega Man with these limited releases

Capcom has partnered with Iam8bit, announcing that Mega Man 2 and Mega Man X will be getting limited edition prints of the classic games, Mega Man 2 for Nintendo Entertainment System and Mega Man X for the Super Nintendo, but be warned, they are limited to 8,500.

Both games will come with the box, instruction booklet and other goodies packed into the box, what they are though is anyone’s guess. What is cooler though, is that one in eight will receive an even more special variant, that glows in the dark.

It is important to note though, that both versions are for NTSC consoles only, so they won’t work on your default NES or SNES consoles, without the right adapter.

If you want to buy one for yourself, they are priced at $100 US each, so expensive, but you can order them here if you do.

Given how hard finding a PAL version of MegaMan X was for years (even rare in 2nd hand dealers), this might be also hard to procure.

    Touche Capcom, touche.

I don’t understand why even enthusiasts would want something like this. I will always prefer playing classic games on modern hardware if given the option.

If Capcom bothered to release the second part of both Megaman and Megaman X collections on cartridge, I would have bought both. Now I’m buying neither. I am aware that part II of the Megaman X collection is available in Japan, but I see little point in grabbing it when the original Megaman isn’t available likewise.
