Bewear, the latest batch of new Pokémon have been revealed

The Pokemon Company have taken the wraps off six new Pokemon today, two of them which had already been featured in Coro Coro last week.

Those two were Bewear, a strong arm Pokemon that’s – well a cute bear. He’s a normal fighting type with a new ability that no other Pokemon has had before. He’s Fluffy! The Fluffy Ability halves the damage taken from attacks that make direct contact, but in return it also doubles the damage taken from Fire-type moves.

Mimikyu, who looks like Pikachu after several years of meth use hides under a cloth. People believe that anybody who sees its true form beneath the cloth will be stricken with a mysterious illness.

Funnily enough this is why Mimikyu looks like Pikachu

The rising popularity of Pikachu-styled merchandise around 20 years ago is the reason that Mimikyu makes itself look like Pikachu. In fact, this Pokémon is dreadfully lonely, and it thought it would be able to make friends with humans if only it looked like Pikachu.

Mimkyu’s disguise ability is one no other Pokemon has had before. It allows it to escape damage from an enemy’s attack just once, then it changes its appearance. Mimikyu is a Ghost/Fairy type.

But wait, there’s more. Bounsweet, Wimpod, Mudsdale and Comfey were all announced as well. All of these new Pokemon stats and details have been updated on the offical Pokemon Sun and Moon website.

There’s also another thing featured in the trailer that isn’t a new Pokemon – it’s a change, possible to the core of the game and could effect competitive play. It’s called Hyper Training and will allow Pokemon that have grown to Level 100 to increase their individual strengths or IV. Something that has never been possible. We’ll have to wait and see how that one plays out.
