The Switch 2 has been fully unveiled — and my word, what an unveiling! You can find all the news here. Preorders have opened at most stores; we’re still waiting on Amazon, and Nintendo has opened expressions of interest for their stock. For the most part, though, things have kicked off in earnest here in Australia.
The Nintendo Switch 2 will come in two configurations, one with Mario Kart World, the other without. The copy of Mario Kart World here in Australia is a download code. The RRP of the Nintendo Switch 2 is $699.95, and with Mario Kart World is $769.95. The bundle is currently is the cheapest way to get into Mario Kart.
This guide will focus mostly on Nintendo Switch 2 hardware. We have a guide for Switch 2 games and Switch 2 accessories separately which is more in-depth on both counts.
So far Amazon Australia have not put up anything to preorder for the Nintendo Switch 2, aside from some third party games or accessories. Which have covered in our other guides.
At this point we’re not sure what they’re waiting for, or when/if preorders on the Switch 2 itself or Nintendo titles will begin.
EB Games also has two different trade in offers, the values below require you to be both Level VI in their EB World program and have a EB Games Plus subscription. There are offers for less than Level VI but you’ll have to check with stores to see what they are.

The Australian My Nintendo Store has opened expressions of interest for those who wish to pre-purchase a Nintendo Switch 2 there, although there are quite a few hoops to jump through for those going that route. Potential buyers who sign up for the chance to pre-purchase a Switch 2 on the My Nintendo Store will be sent offers to purchase in three waves: 24-30 April, 5-9 May, and 15-19 May. All three waves will ship at the same time, and Nintendo says that consoles should arrive on launch day.
Pick up in store only.
