Nintendo dropping hints like a mad lad toward GameCube Virtual Console on Switch

Nintendo has an uncle that works at Nintendo dropping Nintendo hints.

You know those mates you had at school who used to go ‘I know a secret’ and then tease you about knowing something. That’s Nintendo today.

Speaking to French site melty.fr, Shinya Takahashi (General Manager of Entertainment Planning and Development) and Yoshiaki Koizumi (Deputy General Manager of Entertainment Planning and Development) have spoken about the possibility about the GameCube joining the Virtual Console lineup on the Switch;

Koizumi: We cannot give a concrete answer, because we have nothing to announce at the moment. But there’s something I can tell you: we are working on some things along those lines.

Takahashi: The technology is open enough that in the future, other accessories will be grafted on the console. If one day we think of creating Joy-Con GameCube Edition, we will think of putting in analogue triggers. I can imagine a GameCube Controller in Joy-Con; it might be a bit big and ugly, no?

Can’t talk about it…. but gonna tease us like that – oh Koizumi you! To be fair if he can’t talk about it, he really can’t – but still it hurts.

What Takahashi says is also true, the standard Joy-cons for the Switch while having enough buttons physically to work do lack the analogue triggers of its GameCube predecessor.Whether or not it would be ugly?

We don’t think people would mind for the possibility of some portable Melee.
