Nintendo have announced that a sneaky little title called NES Remix which Vooks uncovered last month has been officially revealed.

NES Remix adds a twist or two to some classic Nintendo games of yesteryear. It features carefully selected scenes from 16 titles including the likes of Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong and Excitebike and re-imagines them with new challenges.

Some examples shown include completing a stage from the original Donkey Kong as Link from The Legend of Zelda, completing a blacked out Excitebike stage with just the view of what a headlight can see and even facing off against an oversized King Koopa from Super Mario Bros.

As well as the twists and mashups, some of the games will be almost identical to the original release, featuring a classic gameplay element for you to try to get the highest score or best time possible. Stamps are also making an appearance to use in Miiverse so you can brag your highscore in style, which will also show next to your post.

NES Remix is live on the Wii U eShop right now and is a mere $13.00. It is over400mb to download though!

Video games are not my forte. I'm not very good at video games. If you walked up to me in the streets and exclaimed “Hey! You suck at video games!” I would not call you a liar. They are, however, one of my favourite things and classic Nintendo titles are what I like best. Sure I haven't finished New Super Mario Bros. U yet and I've had the game since launch, but that doesn't mean I don't get the same fuzzy feelings as you when I play it.
