E3 2012: Nintendo offers a taster of what’s to come for 3DS

But don't fret, we're sure there will be a lot more to see tomorrow.

While most of the conference tonight / this morning was about the Wii U, there was a little bit of coverage on Nintendo 3DS as well. A quick reel of four key third party titles was shown to journalists and when we say quick we mean quick.

First up was Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate. Taking place between the original Lords of Shadow game and the upcoming Lords of Shadow 2, the developer of the game is currently unknown but the gameplay looked like classic Castlevania. The way we like it. Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion, a side scrolling platformer from the Henry Hatsworth developers, was also shown and featured some colourful yet beautiful artwork taking place in some familiar Disney locales. Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, which seems so close yet so far (and has been eagerly awaited), was also given a quick highlight as well.

What’s perhaps most interesting about this reel is the inclusion of Scribblenauts Unlimited – detailed just minutes before as being release for Wii U. Will this be one of the first cross-compatible games between the 3DS and the Wii U version? Or are we jumping the gun and it’s instead just a straight port? We don’t know, but it is something we though would be worth mentioning.

While this is literally only four games, we look forward to seeing what else Nintendo has in store for the 3DS tomorrow. We’ll be sure to keep you updated.
