Australia: Where Marth, Ike and other ‘rare’ amiibo are common

GameCube Adapters for Wii U run in abundance.

Australia might be ‘down-under’ and people may joke that everything is the wrong way or upside down here – but they’d be wrong. Unless you’re talking about Nintendo, amiibo and what is and isn’t in stock.

For months we’ve had worldwide shortages of amiibo, Marth, Ike and more recently the wave 4 figures. This wasn’t just here in Australia, but also the rest of the world. As of last week stores around the country were absolutely full of them and other amiibo as well.

Some readers sent us these photos over the weekend. If you want Marth, Ike or are still hunting down wave 4 amiibo, hit up a Target or K-Mart – they’ll likely be there. You can likely thank the impending release of Codename S.T.E.A.M for these Fire Emblem refreshes.

It’s not just amiibo though, last year it was near impossible to find a Wii U GameCube Adapter for Nintendo Wii U. Stores sold out, Nintendo Australia sold out and eBay was a last, expensive resort.

Now, like the amiibo stocks have been replenished in nearly every store, we’ve had reader reports from JB Hi-Fi, EB Games and even the department stores have had them in stock.

Have you been able to find the amiibo you were after now or a GameCube Adapter? Does anyone care anymore? Let us know in the comments.
