Zen Studios discusses 3DS DLC, future projects and Wii U

Some are coming soon, some are coming later, but we'll know more about all of them this year

Revogamers were lucky enough to sit down with Neil Sorens, the creative director from Zen Studios and pick his brain recently. You may know said developer from their 3DSWare offering of Zen Pinball 3D, which is actually not that bad.

In the interview, Sorens states that he really wants to “wait for the right time” to add downloadable content support for Zen Pinball on the eShop, but stressed that the extra tables will be available this year. Additionally, he pretty much confirmed that there will be a standalone title, Marvel Pinball, coming to the eShop at some point in the near future which will also support extra tables.

With regards to other, non-Marvel related tables, Sorens also mentioned that he’d love to make a Nintendo themed table should Nintendo allow it, and considering the work that Zen Studios has done on other intellectual properties we ourselves here at Vooks would not disapprove either.

Looking to the future, Sorens also spoke about the studios future projects, which surprisingly aren’t going to be pinball related but as of now nothing has been announced and no further details could be confirmed.

And of course, like every other developer interview that’s been secured this month, he was also asked about his future prospects for Wii U – but his answer is a little bit vague which may mean something.
Well, the new Wii U controller is… very good for pinball, actually. I can’t talk to you much more than that right now but yeah, I agree that it would be pretty cool for pinball *laughs*.
Four here, more later.

What do you think of Neil’s comments? Could Zen Studios be working on something for the Wii U? We’d wager it’d be announced some time at E3, but we can only wait.
