Wii U version of Watch Dogs ‘delayed’, other versions still on time

The fate of Watch Dogs on the Wii U has been up in the air for some weeks, today Ubisoft held its third quarter earnings announcement and finally let us know what’s up (dog).

Watch Dogs is still coming to the Wii U, but later than the other versions of the game.

The game will now see a release sometime between April and June 2014, but whenever that ends up finally being – Wii U owners will be waiting.

“We made the difficult decision to further delay the release of Watch Dogs on Wii U to focus the team’s resources where they could have the broadest possible benefit for both our customers and Ubisoft,” CEO Yves Guillemot announced during today’s financial call.

The Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC are still on track.

So what are the chances Watch Dogs on Wii U actually releases at all now? Slim to none.

With the Wii U gamepad this could have been THE version to own… but with such a low priority now I doubt they’ll bother doing anything special with it… heck we’ll be lucky if we even still get it in the very end.

Very poor choice by Ubisoft after all the fuss of Rayman Legends and its delay to ensure all gamers got it at the same time. If I hadn’t already paid for it during a Video Ezy sale I wouldn’t bother with the game anymore (assuming it doesn’t end up getting cancelled)

They delay WiiU version and will go on to complain about it under performing and use it as excuse to not port further games.

Seriously these publisher neglect and self sabotage Nintendo platforms then wonder why they get ignored. It up to them win back the trust of Nintendo people not give us shit and scraps then expect monster sales.

I think that’s the most unfair part of all, what Alex pointed out, Wii U owners had to sit around and wait for them to port Rayman to everything else until they were willing to give us the game, and yet when its reversed, and the Wii U version is delayed, they don’t care and release it on everything else first.
