Wii ships with composite/component cable hybrid [UPDATE]

by Daniel VuckovicSeptember 14, 2006

Not many people had a GameCube component cable and if they did, a GameCube with the appropriate port was needed. Now things are different. According to CNET, the Wii will ship with a composite (red, white and yellow plugs) and component cable hybrid similar to what is being offered in the Xbox 360 premium pack.

This adds more value to the Wii bundle as the component cable for the GameCube was around $50. A component cable increases the clarity of the display and allows games to run in progressive scan. They are pretty much an essential for HDTVs.

Seems that CNET is telling porkies, no Component Cable. And you wont be able to use your GameCube one either
