Wii outsells PS3 four to one in January

Japanese chart company Media Create says that during the last week of January the Wii outsold the PS3 with over 80,000 Wii units sold compared to the PS3 coming in at 20,000. What makes this even more painful is that the PS2 sold over the PS3 at 21,000. The three month average also shows that outselling is up to four to one for the entire month.

Nintendo often toots its own horn but this time president of Japanese games magazine publisher Enterbrain say that “”There could be a price cut for the PS3 by the end of the year, and more software titles will hit the market. I expect the PS3 to be doing better after a while. Of course, the Wii will keep running ahead all the while.”” We update the Japanese charts for you guys every Thursday for software while the hardware rocks in on a Friday morning, be sure to keep your eyes glued to keep seeing how the Wii does in the home land!
