Its that magical time and the American gaming charts are in and it seems January turned out to be a very good month for everyone, even if sales were down on the month of December. These figures are from news source Bloomberg but there is still doubt to whether they are entirely accurate.
However the Wii still sold an outstanding 436,000 consoles compared to Microsoft’s Xbox 360 at 294,000 consoles sold and Sony’s Playstation 3 bringing up the rear with 244,000 consoles sold.
Continued Inside Nintendo dominated the sales in January and has sold over 4 million consoles worldwide since it’s initial release last November. Compared to the Xbox 360 which has sold just shy of 10 million since it launched more than a year ago Nintendo are dead set on there way to conquering the top spot, even if it’s for a short while. More thorough figures will be released at a later date including software and DS and PSP hardware numbers.
