Vookcast Episode 72 Out Now – Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag

After a bit of an unintended hiatus (sorry about that guys!), we’re back with episode 72 of the Vookcast! Unfortunately Daniel couldn’t join us this time, but we think that James, Steven and Scott do a decent job of holding the ‘cast together.

In news this week, the crew discuss Nintendo terminating most of the Wii’s online channel services, the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate patch (the one that brings Off-TV play), the new Splinter Cell and Batman games confirmed to be coming to Nintendo platforms, and a cancelled Megaman project that never had the chance to come to any platform.

We also talk a little bit about the latest Pokemon X & Y news (the new Mewtwo reveal), the media tie-in for Disney’s Planes and the recent cancellation of Aliens: Colonial Marines for the Wii U.

Finishing things up, we take a look at the games we’ve all been playing through the last few weeks, including Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Luigi’s Mansion 2 and Lego City: Undercover.

As a quick note – the first ten minutes of this podcast was a little bit flaky in terms of quality, however past the ten minute mark things begin to even themselves out and become a little bit more listenable. As this is the first time we’ve run with a new producer, this problem shouldn’t happen in the future again and we apologise in advance.

So join us won’t you? We hope you enjoy this episode!

For those wondering, this episode was produced (for the first time) by James and features the following music (in order of appearance):

Library (from Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate by Oscar Araujo)
Professor E. Gadd’s Theme (from Luigi’s Mansion 2 by Chad York, Darren Radtke & Mike Peacock)
The Subzero White Knight ~ Barioth (from Monster Hunter tri by Yuko Komiyama, Tadayoshi Makino, Reo Uratani, Masahiro Aoki & Akiyuki Morimoto)
Monster (from The Fame Monster by Lady Gaga)

In the future, most episodes will feature a selection of music from the games we’ve played and discussed as we have done here. The team felt that “Monster” fit in well with our discussion on Monster Hunter – so there’s that too.
