Video: Wii U update still due in June – reduces boot time by 20 seconds

by Daniel VuckovicMay 8, 2014

During today’s financial results briefing Satoru Iwata gave an update on the forthcoming Wii U software update due in June.

So far all we know about the update is that will offer a quick menu for booting and reduce the boot time by 20 seconds. Nintendo demonstrated the new menu and boot time and it is quite snappy.

We’ve included the video below so you can see for yourself.

Is it too late to request some folders Mr Iwata?

The current boot time is painful, so looking forward to any speed boost.

After the last big update I honestly don’t even notice the Wii U boot times but a further improvement is always a good thing.

Compared with Xbox 1, Wii U is already a speed champion – this is only an added improvement.
