After the success of Shaun Whites Snowboarding, Ubisoft branches into soccer and this one supports Wii Motion Plus.
Ubisoft have announced that for their sports line they’ll be branching into soccer. The game titled Academy of Champions is being described as an arcade soccer game and will feature legendary sports icons Pelé and US Soccer champion Mia Hamm.

The game is being developed exclusively for the Wii, which is isn’t a surprise since the Wii version of Shaun White’s Snowboarding sold the best on the Wii. “We made our mark in the sports genre last year with the global success of Shaun White Snowboarding,” stated Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer at Ubisoft. “Now, with Academy of Champions, Ubisoft offers another sports game with a fresh approach that has something unique to offer young gamers and sports fans.”
While the game is being billed as an arcade soccer game, there is a single player and a story driven mode to the game. Your journey begins with enrolment at an extraordinary Soccer Academy where your coach and team member are the previously mentioned stars. The game will also support Wii Motion Plus, but to what extent hasn’t been revealed. The game is out later this year.
