Looks like the hit game, Tomodachi Collection New Life will be finally be making its way outside of Japan.

Hidden away in an interview on the Wall Street Journal and found by Tiny Cartridge is a quote from Iwata talking about the game finally heading west.

“The company is now working to decide what can be kept and what needs to be scrapped for its overseas launch of ‘Tomodachi Collection’ — or ‘Friend Collection’ — a 3DS life simulation game in which Miis from consoles can interact with one another and develop via mundane activities, such as exchanging food and clothing.” Iwata said.

The game features heavily with Japanese culture and lifestyle ideas and so releasing outside of Japan will require some changing. “It’s all about balance,” says Iwata.

Tomodachi or Friend Collection is a big deal Japan selling many millions of copies. It’s like Animal Crossing in which you form digital relationships with the characters in the game, but they’re instead you and your friends Mii’s.

Just what we all need, another Nintendo game to suck away months of our lives at a time.
