Tom Clancy games to make a Wii re-appearance at some point
Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot has revealed in an interview with GameDaily that the Tom Clancy games will be heading to Wii. “”Tom Clancy will appear at one point.”” Said Guillemot. “”We need to make sure they [look good]. We have engines that were created for the next-generation consoles. We had to re-engineer a certain number of engines to be sure we could use the quality of the machine.”” More inside He continues: “”Even without the [high-end] graphics, the experience can still be very interesting. To make sure we can create good enough products [on Wii] or products better than Nintendos takes time. Thats why you dont see many products, but you will see more and more in the future.””
In the same interview, it was mentioned that they have games ready to take advantage of the MotionPlus accessory. “”We knew for a long time they were working on that, so its not a big surprise for us. Well start seeing something in September/October. We already have games that can take advantage of it.””
Splinter Cell has already hit the Wii once in the form of the launch title Double Agent, unfortunately it wasnt much to write home about. Perhaps now Ubisoft may give it a better shot.
