THQ has continued its announcement of Wii games and even through in a DS version of its latest announcement too. All Star Cheer Squad which has the rather weird honour of being the first cheerleading game is heading to the Wii and Nintendo DS later this year. In All Star Cheer Squad you will be put into the world competitive cheerleading. More inside “”With the explosive growth of the girls gaming market in recent years due to the continued success of Wii and DS, our ongoing goal is to stay at the cutting edge of that success by bringing a brand new property for this segment to these popular systems,”” said Jim Huntley, director of global brand management, THQ.

The Wii version will not only make use of the Wii Remote and Nunchuck but also the Wii Balance Board thats included with Wii Fit. The Nintendo DS version is a little different and features a different story line. Cheerleading action will be authentic too with world renowned cheerleading choreographer Tony G, best known for his work in the Bring It On movies providing chorography for the game.

This marks THQ first new originally IP specially aimed for girls.
