The latest Smash trailer has no music, so the internet added their own

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is just around the corner, and even though the game needs no advertising, the latest trailer has become a bit of a viral hit — but not for the reasons you might think.

Here’s the latest Smash trailer, courtesy of our friends at GameXplain:

Notice something odd? It’s missing music. And given the absolute banger of a song Nintendo’s used as Ultimate’s main theme, that’s a little strange. Naturally, the internet decided that wasn’t good enough, and started adding their own music to the new trailer. Here’s one that adds Ultimate’s main theme, Lifelight:

It’s pretty great, right?

Well, here’s where things get a bit funky. The obvious ones were there.

And then came the memes.

So many memes.

Yo ho ho.

And then there’s the ones that just work way too well to believe.

There’s so many fantastic edits out there that it’s utterly impossible to show them all.

Did Nintendo leave music out of the new trailer on purpose? Who knows. All we know is that it’s been a great day for the internet. Maybe Nintendo should release trailers with no music more often.
