While Sony recently laid off a hefty amount of staff in order to compensate for the reduced demand elicited by the economic crisis, Nintendo are still, thankfully, going strong. That being said, during the Thanksgiving week in America, there were sales of approximately 800,000 for the Nintendo Wii, Iwata confirming a large jump from the 350,000 sold during the same period last year. More inside Let’s not forget about the DS either, which saw a 20% increase in sales also.
