Poor Take-Two. All they were trying to do was release an artistic game that allowed you as the player to do what is witnessed during Saw movies. Whatever your stance is with this issue Take-Two have decided to halt development of the Wii and PS2 exclusive Manhunt 2 in the wake of Adults Only ratings in America and Europe and the repeated announcement from Nintendo and Sony to not release an AO game on their console.
More Inside Reported at Gamespot earlier today, the article reports on a very sad revelation that Manhunt 2 may not even see the light of day unless it is given heavy censoring.
“”Take-Two Interactive Software has temporarily suspended plans to distribute Manhunt 2 for the Wii or PlayStation platforms while it reviews its options with regard to the recent decisions made by the British Board of Film Classification and Entertainment Software Rating Board,”” a representative told GameSpot. “”We continue to stand behind this extraordinary game. We believe in freedom of creative expression, as well as responsible marketing, both of which are essential to our business of making great entertainment.””
Will censoring it even save it? Tame-Two now have a harrowing road ahead of them and hopefully, for the sake of Nintendo’s image they will censor the game enough to allow for a Wii release later this year.
