Sonic Mania on Switch has home button glitch, fix on the way

Sonic Mania on the Switch is a pretty good port, it runs at full speed, most of the time docked and in handheld mode. There’s just one problem with it right now.

You can’t exit out of it, most of the time at least.

The HOME menu currently either takes multiple presses to activate or simply doesn’t activate at all. There’s also an issue with taking screenshots in portable mode – it just doesn’t work. The good news is the developers are aware and they’re working on a fix!

We’ll have our full review on Sonic Mania soon, well we can’t quit out of it at the moment…

I have been playing it since last night and haven’t had either of those problems. The home button exits out fine and I’ve taken a bunch of screenshots in handheld mode. Very strange, maybe it only happens under certain conditions?

I only played docked and yes I get that home button issue. Takes about 2-3 seconds to respond.

The quick settings overlay was permanently on my screen (which had never happened on any other game) after I hit the sleep button, then the home button. I left it to run the battery flat, came back after a while and it had finally gone to sleep. The game is overpriced but good for a quick grind.

I’ve heard tons of people saying this is annoying but not game-breaking, but when I noticed this glitch (when I entered the home menu the first time), I opened up the quick menu, and it’s been stuck there for nearly ten minutes. None of the buttons have done anything, and I can’t find any other solution, but to let the console run out of batteries.
