Sheik, Darunia and Ruto join the playable cast of Hyrule Warriors

Famitsu have revealed the new characters who will feature in Hyrule Warriors as playable characters, and much like previous reveals, they’re all consistent with a singular game in the series. Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword have had their chance to shine – so it looks like it’s Ocarina of Time’s chance now too. We’ve not got any trailers or screenshots of them just yet, but they’re sure to be coming.

While we don’t have the full details just yet, in their preview for the newest issue, Famitsu Magazine have revealed Sheik as a playable character in Hyrule Warriors. From what little we can see, Sheik fights with his (her?) knives and other cool Ninja-like moves.

While we don’t have any images of them just yet, the text of the article also confirms that Darunia and Princess Ruto will also be joining the playable cast.  This is consistent with previous teases from the official Twitter that a Goron would be joining the cast this week.

To top it all off, the article also mentions that the Golden Skulltulla will be featuring in the game, somehow, and that both Impa and newcomer Lana will be getting second weapon and movesets too.

When we have images and trailers, we’ll be sure to update you. For now, why not check out the latest trailer featuring Link’s brand new weapon – the Power Gloves, which incorporates the Ball and Chain weapon from Twilight Princess.

Hyrule Warriors is due for release on Saturday, September 20th exclusively on Wii U, later this year.
