SEGA: We were first to believe in the Wii
As third-party publishers are rushing to take advantage of the Wiis success, Nintendo former console rival SEGA are touting their early support of the console. “”SEGA was the first third-party publisher to believe in the Wii”” claimed SEGAs America President Simon Jeffery in an interview with the San Francisco chronicle. SEGA was right there with Nintendo when the console launched in 2006 with their Wii-only title Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz and have provided a consistent array of titles ever since. More inside SEGA-developed blockbuster Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, which brought the two companies former iconic rivals together for the first time, has proved itself as one the biggest success stories on Wii- still appearing in weekly sales charts since releasing in 2007. The 2009 line-up of Wii titles, which looks to be Nintendos strongest yet, is bolstered by SEGA-developed community favourites Madworld, The House of the Dead: Overkill, and The Conduit.
