Sega to let Sonic off the leash?

Sonic the Hedgehog hasnt had a good run for a while now on consoles. The Blue Blurs latest outing on the Xbox 360 and PS3 was atrocious, Sonic and the Secret Rings outing on the Wii was average at best and lately, Sonic has been enjoying the company of Mario in both Smash Bros and at the Olympics. So, could the trademark filing be another attempt at a excellent Sonic game for console? Sega has trademarked the name Sonic Unleashed, sounds like a game title to us, but for more details, well just have to wait.
