Rumour: American Wii U release date could be November 18th
It’s the question that’s on everyone’s lips, just when is the Wii U being released? Today we might be one step closer to knowing the US release date at least.
The Gamestop Managers conference is being held in the US right now. An annual event where publishers and distributors spruik their latest wares to the biggest gaming retailer in America. Yesterday accessory maker PDP (who make Nerf licensed items) told the managers in attendance that their shiny new Wii U accessories would be coming out on November 18th.
So how are people coming to the conclusion that this could be the US launch date? Well 6 years earlier the Wii was released on November 19th 2006, also a Sunday. Naturally accessories could be released before the system is released, but why release them on a Sunday? PDP has back tracked on the comments denying they don’t know the release date.
Whatever the date we’ll know for sure in just over two weeks with Nintendo of America holding an event on September 13th.
It seems likely though that this is the release date. Which begs the next question, whens will we Aussies find out release date?
GameCube was also released on the 18th of November back 2001 so it would be in line with that as well.
