RIP Miitomo – Nintendo’s first ever mobile game has now closed
Nintendo’s first foray into the mobile world, Miitomo has been shuttered with the service ending today just minutes ago. If you try and boot the game up now you get a message saying it’s under maintenance.
Miitomo wasn’t so much a game as it was a social experiment, and its clear by Nintendo closing it after just two years – it didn’t do that great. There was a certain charm to it though, and dressing up your Mii was never as fun as it was in Miitomo.
Nintendo will now add a Mii editor to the Nintendo website later this month, but it won’t include any of the cool accessories or clothes you may have acquired in the game.
RIP Miitomo.
