Reggie: We want quality not quantity for DSi software
Reggie Fils-Aime has touted the new DSis downloadable software service in promoting the new handheld but has declared that Nintendo will offer a higher standard of quality assurance for games licensed for release on the service. For comparison, Apples approval process to license games for the iPhone is fair less stringent that Nintendo- all that developers require is pay $100 USD application, and meet Apples loose classification requirements. The Big N is far more picky, and requests that devs acquire a dedicated development kit, as well as endure a lengthier approval process.
