A new interview with NOA President Reggie Fil-Aime has surfaced on MTV.com, the interview gives us an update on some things Nintendo has been doing lately as well as a update DS Lite Shortages, Third Party support, Metroid Prime 3 and the cult classic Earthbound.

Read more inside! Reggie starts out talking about the DS Lite, according to Fils-Aime – “”We put everything in the marketplace that we humanly could by December 25th. But from December 26th until mid-January, we were effectively out of stock.”” It will take a while to get back to normal “”It’s going to be tight probably until March. And then as we gear up for the April 22nd launch of ‘Pokmon Diamond and Pearl,’ things should certainly open up at that point.””

The topic of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is a sticky one with Wii fans, and Reggie says that the focus is on the game is to make sure it is perfect when they launch it after being disappointed with the sales of Metroid Prime 2. Interviewer Stephen Totilo then asked “”If it’s perfect, does that mean its going to be online?”” In response, Fils-Aime said: “”That’s perfect for you.””

The Earthbound (known as Mother in Japan) series is also hot topic with Nintendo fans and being a cult classic, Reggie tells us that the series is important to Satoru Itawa who worked on the games years ago. But even with the success it has had in Japan, it doesn’t guarantee it a place in the West. However Nintendo are thinking about it.
