Reggie Fils-Aime talks Manhunt and Wii
In a recent interview with N’Gai Croal for Newsweek, Reggie Fils-Aime has commented on the issue of the current AO status of Manhunt 2. The Nintendo of America CEO stressed that the game, as it currently existed, was outside the spectrum of what Nintendo and any other manufacturer could approve of. When asked whether typical Wii gestural controls may still push the game to an Adult’s Only rating even in a revised version, he stressed that the Wii controls should not be an issue for the Entertainment Software Rating Board.

Wii welcomes games rated E, T and M. We havent approved AO-rated games. I doubt we ever will. What Rockstar has right now is a game rated outside our spectrum, outside any manufacturers spectrum.
(concerning Wiimote motions adding to the Adult Only rating in the Wii version) Thats an issue for the ESRB and Rockstar to work through. And as I understand the ESRB guidelines, the Wii controls should not be an issue.
