It’s something of a hot topic among gamers. What is happening with Goldeneye? Fans of the Nintendo 64 classic have been waiting for the much-talked about XBLA version or an appearance on Wii’s virtual console, but legal issues have thrown a spanner in the works. Speaking to Destructoid, Rare’s Nick Burton has said that issues with the James Bond license (which currently belongs to Activision) is preventing the release. More inside

Burton went on to say “”The ball’s not in anybody at Rare’s court, really, it’s squarely in the license holders’ court. It’s a shame. It’s kind of locked in this no man’s land. There’s nothing on LIVE Arcade, there’s nothing on Wii.”” We can all hope for a quick and simple answer, but with a property as massive as Bond we are walking down a difficult road indeed.
