Rainbow Rocket is here to ruin your day in a new Ultra Sun and Moon trailer

What’s your favourite Pokémon evil team? Team Rocket? Team Aqua? Or maybe it’s Team Plasma? Maybe you can’t pick. Good news though — in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, you don’t have to.

Announced today with an awesome video was Team Rainbow Rocket, an evil syndicate made up of every single bad guy from the series’ history. And maybe not the versions of those bad guys that you’d expect — strangely, Maxie and Archie, of Team Magma and Team Aqua respectively, seem to be their original Ruby and Sapphire versions, not the ones introduced in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Team Rainbow Rocket’s goals aren’t totally clear, but one thing is crystal clear: they’re here to kick butt and chew rare candies. And they’re all out of rare candies.

So majestic. So cool.

But that’s not all, oh no. Also introduced was a new facility called the Battle Agency, which seems to be the Battle Frontier facility of this generation. Much like the Battle Factory (or maybe even the Pokémon World Tournament), at the Battle Agency you can rent powerful Pokémon to take on incredibly strong trainers, including some familiar faces from Sun and Moon.

They also give you some dope shades to fight off that harsh Alolan sun.

That’s gotta be all, right? Wrong! Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will also feature every single Legendary Pokémon ever featured in the series, excluding Mythicals. From Mewtwo and Lugia to Regirock and Xerneas, you’ll travel through an Ultra Wormhole to face one of these monolithic creatures, some of which are version exclusive. But hey, that’s what trading is for! Special items for these Pokémon, such as Mega Stones and Giratina’s Griseous Orb, will also be available, so don’t worry, these guys are packing power.

Mewtwo?? What are you doing here?! Go home!

There’s so much here, and that’s even without going into depth about Totem Stickers (you can collect them to turn your Pokémon huge, it’s rad). It’s hard to believe Game Freak managed to pack even more content in after Sun and Moon, but that’s what happens when you put some fresh faces on the team. And we’re not even done yet! There’s yet another info dump coming next week. Slow down Game Freak, my heart can only take so much!

You can watch the full trailer below (and squeal as loud as I did when OG Maxie appeared on the screen. Such a majestic man.)
