If you’re in Melbourne this weekend you’ll want to check the huge three day Pokémon Video Game and Trading Card Game National Championships taking place.

Players from around the country and New Zealand will be gathering to see who be the very best like no one ever was at both the Pokemon video games and in the Pokemon trading card game. Players in both tournaments will be playing for the National title but also points that can built toward invitations to the 2015 Pokémon World Championships in Boston. Who said video games never took you places.

You don’t had to have been in the competition to already to come on down and have some fun, there will be Pokemon mini-tournamanets, trivia, face-painting, colouring-in competitions. Something Pokemon for everyone. Nintendo’s website is fully up to speed with all the information you need so if you’re thinking of going. This years event is hosted at the Melbourne Park Function Centre.

Good luck to all those going and all of those competing!
