Pokémon Bank released on Australian and European eShop

Yup, you read right, but in case you didn’t, you can now download Pokémon Bank on the Australian eShop, along side the European release. New Zealand should also now have the app available for download. If you join before March 14th, you get a free 30 day trial, after which there’s a $6.50 AUD yearly fee.

And for all the fans of the 5th generation, you can download Poké Transporter via a download link in the Pokémon Bank menu, allowing you to then transfer Pokémon from earlier versions.

You will also be able to receive the legendary Pokémon Celebi as a free gift for a limited time. Don’t stress you have some months to get it.

Pokémon Bank was originally meant to be released late in December last year, that was until the Nintendo Network couldn’t take the holiday traffic plus the hoards of Pokémon fans all at the same time.

The American eShop does not have the program as of yet.

Need a NNID to download it so for anyone who’s switching between regions….

Though it makes me wonder if I could lock it to the UK account on my Wii U and keep it like that instead.

Wasn’t happy about being forced to get a NNID (my husband and I share a Club Nintendo account, so now my eShop purchases won’t count to our points). However… Pokemon Bank!!! YAY!

It’s great, but does take a lot of fiddling around with cartridges – you can only transport one box from White/Black/2 at a time, and then only from the first box (so you have to keep going in and moving Pokemon). But it’s still quicker than the old methods!
