In a recent preview by Destructiod for Cooking Mama, developers Majesco were asked about the lack of online play and their response was a simple one, blame Nintendo. In all their secrecy, the big N aren’t even telling developers how to utilise their online service. Now this will be a bit of a problem, because if you don’t know how something works, how are you supposed to make games supporting it?
More Inside The Majesco representative stated that the #1 question he is asked about Cooking Mama is related to online features. Every one wants their games online and in this day and age, it is just odd to find a game that doesn’t have some sort of online play. It’s a shame Nintendo don’t want to share their secrets because there are several games that could work really well with an online mode of play.
So basically at the moment, if a game lacks online play, don’t take your anger out at the developer or publisher for being lazy, take it out at Nintendo for not telling them how to do so.
